Udaipur is known as the city of lakes. Taking a plunge in the Fateh Sagar or Pichhola lake is a favourite sport of localites, especially children, at least in summers. But when a maa-beti (mother, daughter) of Mewar crossed the English Channel recently, the city of lakes instantly brimmed with pride.
